To prevent rugs from buckling and 'creeping' over wall to wall carpet, this thin, lightweight pad works like magic. With the tacky side down to carpet, and felt side up to rug, the dry adhesive will adhere rug and pad to the floor to prevent movement, wrinkles and puckers leaving the rug smooth and flat. The pad can be removed and re-adjusted and does not leave a residue on carpet or rug. This pad can also be reversed with gray side down to a hard surface floor and white side up to grip the rug.
Pad should fit entire area of rug, trimmed easily with scissors about 1 inch smaller on each side.

I’ve bought 4 pads from IR&D, three tacky- My rugs have not shifted once. My first rug I bought from them I asked what I could use to keep my rugs from shifting on the carpet in my kids rooms and the gentleman recommended the tacky pad. I won’t go anywhere else for these.

First, it does the job, which is to keep a rug from moving around on carpet. It is very sticky. I don’t know what I expected, but it’s a thick little pad…a bit thicker than I anticipated. I am using it with a very small Karastan rug in front of a vanity sink. On my plush carpet it makes the rug thick. Because the rug is right up against the vanity I probably didn’t NEED the pad, but I have had experience with rugs on carpet in the past, and I didn’t want it to slip around, so I ordered the rug and pad at the same time. I’m using it. I’m happy with it. Just be aware that if you have thick carpet and a nice thick rug you may be surprised about the added thickness.
This stuff WORKS! I have a 2 x 22 foot long runner that runs from my front door to the kitchen. I live in the Pacific Northwest where muddy feet is a given. But I also have a Labrador Retriever puppy and she runs in the house pretty fast! I've been here in this new house for 6 months and the runner shifted all over the place. But I had to keep it down or my carpet would be a mess.
I put this down a month ago AND IT HAS NOT MOVED. I COULDN'T ASK FOR ANYTHING BETTER!!!! Nobody can see it but it's under two rugs now- the runner and one near the front door and they have not moved a millimeter. And vacuuming the rug and carpet is a snap!

I bought this pad after reading reviews that said it eliminated bumps and ripples when layering a rug over a rug. I am pleased to say that after a couple of weeks, there are no bumps where chairs legs and coffee table sit on top of the second rug. The tackiness seems to be the answer. Such an inexpensive, clever solution to whatfor me has been a confounding problem.

I used the tacky pad under our Turkish runner which is very heavy and over our new carpet. Before the tacky pad the runner would move and bunch up with every step! The pad solve our problems, it really does work!

I bought this to put under a 5x7 rug that I have on top of another larger carpet. Up to this point the rug moved daily and I was constantly having to reposition it. I've had the carpet pad underneath for about a week and so far so good!!! No movement at all and I'm thrilled. Hopefully this continues and I won't have to move furniture and reposition the rug anymore! Very happy customer!
