To prevent rugs from buckling and 'creeping' over wall to wall carpet, this thin, lightweight pad works like magic. With the tacky side down to carpet, and felt side up to rug, the dry adhesive will adhere rug and pad to the floor to prevent movement, wrinkles and puckers leaving the rug smooth and flat. The pad can be removed and re-adjusted and does not leave a residue on carpet or rug. This pad can also be reversed with gray side down to a hard surface floor and white side up to grip the rug.
Pad should fit entire area of rug, trimmed easily with scissors about 1 inch smaller on each side.

I bought this to put under a 5x7 rug that I have on top of another larger carpet. Up to this point the rug moved daily and I was constantly having to reposition it. I've had the carpet pad underneath for about a week and so far so good!!! No movement at all and I'm thrilled. Hopefully this continues and I won't have to move furniture and reposition the rug anymore! Very happy customer!
The tacky pad really works! I have the rug and pad in the living room over carpeting. In the past I had to readjust my rug weekly to remove the wrinkles. With the new tacky pad it has not moved. I even recommend the of to my daughter.
I’ve bought 4 pads from IR&D, three tacky- My rugs have not shifted once. My first rug I bought from them I asked what I could use to keep my rugs from shifting on the carpet in my kids rooms and the gentleman recommended the tacky pad. I won’t go anywhere else for these.

Easy to place with simple instructions. My decorative
rug does not slide or pucker. I did trim the pad due to sizing, easy to do. On researching, there was mention of odors from rug pads from different companies. This one did not have any odor at all. Vacuumed well!!
I have the tacky pad under two 5x7 Loloi rugs that are over wall-to-wall carpeting. They are doing a fine job securing the area rugs in place. The area rugs stay flat and do not bunch or shift at all. Staff at Incredible Rugs in Boerne, Dilene and Robert, are exceptionally helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.
It works just like they said it would. We bought a 10 x 14 piece for a rug of that size that had MANY lumps and bumps. We rolled up the rug, laid down the tacky pad, laid the rug on top and no more lumps. Timely arrival. Easy to install if you take your time and work carefully. Perfect result.
By far and away this is the only pad that keeps my entrance hall rug and my upstairs runner in place. I've tried other rug pads from both big box stores and from specialty rug pad shops ($$$), but holds the rugs in place like this one. Moreover, it doesn't harm my wood floors, and it can be flipped over to hold rugs on carpet too. For sure, I'll be purchasing more Tacky Pads for rugs that are not anchored down by furniture.
