I ordered 3 different Karastan samples from which to select area rugs for my living room. The Bobby Berk sample arrived later than the other two, but I'm glad that I waited. This rug sample has more vivid colors and better texture than the others. (Just received two more samples for other rooms, and the Bobby Berk also compares favorably to them in color and texture.) I understand now why it's a bit more expensive.
I disagree with the review that described the sapphire color as blue-green. The rug has a mixture of blue colors that include navy, french, and petrol-similar to other Karastan blue rugs-not just/primarily a blue-green. This combination creates a multi-faceted appearance, like a vivid sapphire gem. I plan to paint the room navy, and I expect that the colors in this rug will pop, rather than make the room too dark.
I've already purchased an 8 × 11 of this rug as our main living room area rug. I can't wait till it arrives!

I ordered a sample of this rug to compare it to another one. This rug is beautiful and vibrant — the sapphire tone is more of blue-green tone than a navy. What impressed me most with the sample I received is how plush this rug is. With a rug pad under it, I imagine it would be so incredibly comfortable under foot. This is the rug I will eventually be purchasing and I can't wait!
