This engaging vine and blossom design features oversize palmettes and serrated leaves - typical of both Agra and Lahore carpets woven during the mid 17th century Mogul dynasty. Karastan's modern day interpretation is enhanced with a fresh color palette of coral reds with accents of marine blue, soft greens, and muted yellows on an antique ivory ground.
These rugs are a masterful mix of timeless traditional designs and updated colorations with a fresh point of view. Backgrounds and pattern motifs contain multiple color shadings, creating a softened visual texture that results in a relaxed appeal appropriate for both traditional and casual decorating styles. Representing a standard of excellence in wool rugs, this collection has been crafted using dozens of individually skein dyed yarns for jewel tone clarity.
