The rug shipped quickly. It unrolled and laid flat immediately. I used a felt pad underneath for a bit more cushion. There was very little "off gassing." There is some shedding, but it is more like lint, and over time, there is less and less. Using a non-beater vacuum does the trick. The color is a little more golden than I anticipated, but with the striations, it really works well in my living room - I wanted something that would tie the front garden with the indoor living space. Overall very pleased and would highly recommend,
