Care Instructions: To ensure a longer lasting quality, steps must be taken during care and cleaning to protect the durability of your polished piece. High powered vacuums, more often than not, pull out of the back of rugs, causing sprouts and a generally unattractive appearance to a once flawless rug. To counter this effect, place your vacuum starting at the edge of the rug, using a low setting and high elevation, or if possible, use hand held attachments when cleaning. As well, over time, the fibers within your piece will unavoidably begin to weaken. When this occurs, regularly, yarn will poke out from the edges of your rugs, and in order to prevent pulling, it is crucial that you do not simply pull the yarn out, but rather, cut these weak fibers using scissors to maintain the impeccable quality of your Surya rug. As well, if spills occur, it is crucial that you immediately tend to the area, blotting it with a towel to remove the moisture and to prevent any stain from setting.

This rug is in my living room where it does not get any traffic, and is very comfy to walk on barefoot. I have found quite a few white wool threads peeking through the surface of the rug, and I hesitate to cut them because I don’t know what they are attached to on the other side. The white threads are obvious. The rug is still shedding and has been down on the floor for about three weeks. I anticipated the shedding and it is becoming less and less each time I would vacuum the rug. I would still consider this a medium quality rug, because the pile is beginning to flatten.
Have been disappointed in quality of rug. Although the colors are as depicted and just what I wanted, I'm continually finding small threads coming out of the rug. It's in the living room, not a high traffic area and there are only two of us in the household. Wouldn't order it again!
