The enlarged palmettes, flowering trees, and connecting vinery of Cromwell are artfully hand-woven on a clean open ground, following the tradition of migrating tribes that had little time to weave elaborate carpets designs. Our Oushak rugs use large Turkish-style knots and thick wool yarns to recreate these 15th century designs, also evident in the border of enlarged palmettes enclosed by flowering trees. The border of this beautiful carpet is slightly wider than typical in Persian carpets, which is characteristic of Oushak rugs.
The Safavieh Oushak Rug collection consists of Wool Pile pile woven in a wonderful Hand Knotted weave. With a beautiful color/pattern combination, our only complaint is that Safavieh didn't make more of them.
